Holy Bull ! It's Stakes Saturday

We peek in on one of the great stakes races going on today down in South Florida.  Kentucky Derby Points will be awarded in this one and the field looks great.

Gulfstream Park Race 10 {Holy Bull~G2~1 1/16 mile~3 year olds~Stakes}
A fantastic field of eleven will be seeking Derby points in this annual graded stakes event.  It is a great group of youngsters with smashing pedigrees.  All but one has yet to race this new year and will be firing fresh with excellent workouts under their saddles.  There is plenty of speed to keep this one humming.  All the fine trainers and top jockey's are here to guide their charges along the Kentucky Derby 140 trail in search of derby points toward gate entry.
It should be an awesome race.

#6 Mr. Speaker (Lezcano / McGaughey) looks to make a strong transition from Turf to dirt with the highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and three workmanlike workouts.  This son of Pulpit has the running style versatility to adapt to race conditions.  He looks ready to improve once again.
$1 WIN / $2 PLACE / $3 SHOW.

#8 Wicked Strong (Castellano / J. Jerkens) will challenge with the third highest last out speed number coming off a longer route, a three race progression, and four supreme peaking workouts.  Expect this son of Hard Spun to be tracking the pace and explode into the stretch.  He is 100% in the money from three career starts.
$1 PLACE / $2 SHOW.

#7 Cairo Prince (Saez / McLaughlin) should contend with the second highest last out speed number at a longer route and four superb peaking workouts.  This handsome son of Pioneer of the Nile should sit close to the pace and make a move going into the stretch run.  He is another that is 100% in the money from three starts.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#1 Coup de Grace (J. Velazquez / C. Brown) should be part of the front end party with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and three robust peaking workouts.  This son of Tapit has already notched a victory over the Gulfstream course.  Undefeated in two starts, he could be the overall favorite.

#10 Big Bazinga (Bravo / Vassilieva) could surprise with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and four strong peaking workouts.  With a versatile running style, this son of Bluegrass Cat, should be able to shoot through a hole for a piece of the purse pie.
