Horse Racing Weekend begins at Santa Anita

We begin our horse racing weekend with a fascinating downhill Turf battle.

Santa Anita Race 3 {6 1/2 furlongs~downhill TURF~4 year old Up~Claiming}
An interesting group of seven will venture up the hill only to run back down in this start of a tremendous Santa Anita Pick Six carryover.  There is plenty of speed and forwardly placed types to keep this race hotly contested.  Positioning will be the key to victory.

#2 A Toast To You (Gutierrez / Miller) might have the edge with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and four strong peaking workouts.  He should track the front end crew closely and swoop into the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

#5 He's a Dance Star (Bejarano / Baltas) will surely challenge with the third highest speed number at the distance coupled with a 100% in the money record at the same in five starts.  He should be the speed as well as the favorite that will need to hold off the rest of these Turfers.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#7 Hotradamus (Nakatani / Glatt) should contend with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four robust workouts.  This guy has down well traveling the downhill course.  He should be tracking the pace ready to strike.

#4 Zimmer (Smith / Proctor) will be coming back to the races after a year sabbatical.  This lad is 50% in the money from twenty-two starts.  This will be his first venture down the Santa Anita hill.  His prep includes five superb peaking workouts.  He could be capable of a decent effort.
