Superfecta Sunday at Sunny Santa Anita

We roll into another Superfecta Sunday, the last in this month of January.  Today we take a look at a competitive downhill Turf race.

Santa Anita Race 8 {Clockers Corner Stakes~6 1/2 furlongs~downhill TURF~4 year old Up~Stakes}
A class field of nine will roll down the beautiful Santa Anita downhill TURF course.  There is enough speed in here to keep the pace wicked.  It is possible that the closers may have the advantage.  Our task is to piece together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#2 Sweet Swap (Bejarano / Sadler) is coming off an extended layoff with four high quality workouts.  Prior to the layoff he secured the highest (tie) last out speed number and was working a three race progression.  He is the most experienced with the downhill TURF course having produced an 80% in the money record from five starts.

#4 Boat Trip (Talamo / Pender) should challenge in the closing yards with the third highest last out speed number at a route and one efficient workout.  He also holds the highest (tie) speed number at the distance.  He will be our Bronze Horseshoe runner.
$2 SHOW.

#3 Drill (M. Garcia / Baffert) should contend with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number at a route, a two race progression, and three superb peaking workouts.  This lad has the second highest speed number at the distance and should close well.

#9 Ready for More (Smith / Mitchell) could be the odds on favorite with the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three excellent peaking workouts.  he should be motoring on the front end with the other speedsters.

10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)

#2 Sweet Swap  +  #4 Boat Trip  +  #3 Drill  +  #9 Ready for More.

Stakes Saturday Results
Gulfstream Park R10.  Holy Bull--G2.  Our first pick, Mr. Speaker, finished 7th.  Our second pick, Wicked Strong, finished 9th.  Our third pick, Cairo Prince, won (1st) for show money of $1.60.
Superfecta went 7-9-11-4.
Bankroll continues to drop like the January tempertures in Chicago, falling to $19.94.
