A Saratoga Start to a Horse Racing Weekend

Thursday begins our horse racing weekend. Today we take a gander at a nice sprint race at the Spa.

Saratoga Race 6 {Union Avenue Stakes~6 1/2 furlongs~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~NY~Stakes}
A good crew of six will go to the dirt. There is ample speed to keep this race tight.  All of these gals are closely matched in terms of speed numbers.  It should be a great race.

#2 Risky Rachel (Castellano / Coronel) looks to sit right off the pace with the highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and one bullet workout. She also holds the highest speed number at the distance in which she notched a win.
$1 SHOW.

#4 Vicki's Dancer (J. Velazquez / Rodriguez) should challenge with a couple of good last out speed numbers and three superb peaking workouts. If a strong pace develops, watch her track and close brilliantly She should track the pace closely and fly into the stretch.
$1 SHOW.

#3 Sunny Desert (I. Ortiz / Levine) should contend with a couple of sound last out speed numbers and four supreme workouts. She is undefeated at Saratoga and at this distance. This gal should track the pace closely swooping into the stretch.
$1 SHOW.

Another Wagering Interest

#6 Champagne Ruby (C. Velasquez / L. Rice) could be in the mix with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and a two race progression.  She has the tactical speed to feel the race out and position well. She posts the third highest (tie) speed number at the distance.
