Churchill's Precocious Twos

A beautiful Fall Sunday to take a peak at the two year olds down in Kentucky.  Away from the Northeastern storms, we will view a nice graded stakes race at wonderful Churchill Downs.

With the Breeder's Cup 2011 only days away, let's see how that famous oval is playing.  The weather looks good today, 62 degrees and mostly sunny.  The weather outlook for BC Friday is 59 degrees with some showers and BC Saturday it will perfect racing weather, 62 degrees and mostly sunny.  Let's hope the weather people are right.

Churchill Downs Race 10 {Pocahontas~G2~1 mile~2 year old~fillies~Stakes}
An outstanding crop of twelve precocious two year old will step on to the track for this annual race.  Only half have gone a route distance; none have gone an exact mile.  There will be plenty of speed  which may leave it to the trackers and closers to pick up the pieces if the pace gets too hot.  This could be any gals race as all are improving.  This promises to be a great viewing race.

#3 Georgie's Angel (Castellano / Pletcher) looks to have a slight edge over her peers with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and two solid workouts.  She should be running right off the pace ready to speed away in the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

#11 Heart of Destiny (Prado / Baker) will challenge with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two very fine workouts.  This versatile filly will close well in the stretch run.
$2 SHOW.

#10 Aubby K (Albarado / Nicks) could be the surprise with the second highest last out speed number in her only race to date.  She has trained well, logging in two superb, peaking workouts.  Yes, she will be moving up in distance, but she is one of Street Sense's progeny, the 2007 Kentucky Derby winner.  She showed speed in her first and only race, a sprint.  She is deserved of a Bronze horseshoe.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#6 Glinda The Good (Leparoux / Asmussen) looks very strong with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number, a three race progression, and three hearty, peaking workouts.  She appears to have enough tactical speed to stay in the race early and make her assault in the stretch.

#4 On Fire Baby (Johnson / Hartlage) could be the speedster that holds on for a piece of the purse with the third highest last out speed number and two endurance producing workouts.  She could set the pace on fire, baby!
