Seeking Belmont Gold

It's Stakes Saturday where there are high level races across the country.  Today we look at the Jockey Club Gold Cup at beautiful Belmont Park.

Belmont Park Race 10 {Jockey Club Gold Cup~G1~1 1/4 mile~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A splendid race with a solid field of seven will shape up here.  Any one of these can pull off the victory.  All, but one have run a triple digit speed number in their career.  It appears that running styles are evenly distributed making this an exciting race to wager and watch.

#4 Stay Thirsty (Castellano / Pletcher) will go for his third win in a row; a difficult task for any high quality horse.  He holds the second highest last out speed number and three tenacious, peaking workouts.  He should hang with the leaders and make his move in the stretch.
$1 WIN / SHOW.

#6 A.U. Miner (Borel / Hanna) will make a mighty challenge with the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four strong, peaking workouts.  With a swift pace to close into, this guy could surprise.
$1 PLACE / SHOW.

#1 Flat Out (Solis / Dickey) will also challenge with a wicked closing kick.  He holds the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two hearty workouts.  He also holds a victory at Belmont Park with the highest speed number of the field.
$2 SHOW.

10 CENT Superfecta
The small field precludes a 10 CENT Superfecta from being offered.
