Happy August. Happy Horse Racing.

Happy August!!  A new month and a new horse racing weekend begins on this Thursday.  Today we take a peek at a little race at the "Spa".

Saratoga Race 6 {J. Morrissey Stakes~6 1/2 furlongs~3 year old Up~NY~Stakes}
A very small field of five will go to the gate.  Most in this field like to be forwardly placed.  All but one have had a nice thirty day freshening going into this race.  It should be a good sprint.

#2 Saratoga Snacks (Rosario / Sciacca) has the edge with the highest (tie) last out speed number, an eight race progression, and two sharp peaking workouts.  He should be motoring with others on the front end.  It could very well be his race to lose.
$1 SHOW.

#3 Saginaw (Alvarado / Jacobson) is the old veteran that will challenge with a decent last out speed number and five robust workouts.  He holds the highest speed number at this distance which he obtained over this track.  Another that will be close to the pace.
$1 SHOW.

#4 Mine Over Matter (Lezcano / Hushion) should be in the mix with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two strong workouts.  He could be poised for victory should the pace get out of hand as he will be coming from off the pace.
$1 SHOW.

10 CENT Superfecta

Due to the small field there is no 10 CENT Superfecta offered.

Last Superfecta Sunday (7/28) Results
Monmouth R13.  Haskell Invitational--G1.  Our 10 CENT Superfecta box effort fell short nailing down only two of four wagering interests.  Superfecta went 7-4-6-5.
Our Bronze Horseshoe selection, Power Broker, finished 2nd for show money of $3.60.
Bankroll sheds a few cents settling at $4.82.
