Beauty at the Spa and Along the Jersey Shore

Today we look at a stakes race for 2 year old fillies at Saratoga and an Allowance race for fillies and mares at Monmouth.

Saratoga Race 9 {Schuylerville~G3~6 furlongs~2 year old~fillies~Stakes}
A nice field of seven babies line up for this race.  Stopspendingmaria (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) seems to have the edge with the highest last out speed number and two superb workouts.  Challenging will be Final Mesa (Coa / Ward) with the second highest last out speed number and one vigorous workout.  Also expected to run well will be Le Mi Geaux (Lenclud / R. Dutrow) with a couple of decent speed numbers last out and a terrific, peaking workout tab of three.  Let's play the Spa, Saratoga.

$2 SHOW:  #2 Stopspendingmaria.
$2 SHOW:  #1A Final Mesa.
NO 10 CENT Superfecta offered on this race.

Monmouth Park Race 8 {1 mile + 70 yards~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~NJ~Allowance}
A large field of eleven closely capable horses will go to the gate in this one.  Interesting thing is that there is no speed so it could be anyone's race.  Power Pledge (P. Lopez / Shuman) has a slight edge with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one powerful workout.  Valentine Daisey (Trujillo / Dimauro) looks ready to strike at the top of the stretch with the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two flowering workouts.  Cosmic Dance (Serpa / Kazamais) will be there near the finish with the highest last out speed number and a three race progression.  First Acquital (Marquez / Jennings) will be looking for a piece of the purse with the fourth highest last out speed number, a five race progression, and a good workout.  Also looking for a sliver of the pie will be Erin Go Bey (Fragoso / Perkins) with a decent last out speed number, a three race progression, and two robust workouts.  Let's give Monmouth Park a shot.

$2 SHOW:  #10 Power Pledge
$2 SHOW:  #9 Valentine Daisey
10 CENT Superfecta:  #10 Power Pledge / #9 Valentine Daisey#6 Cosmic Dance / #8 First Acquital, #2 Erin Go Bey.
