A Dandy Day at Saratoga

Saturday is Stakes day.  Today we look at the Jim Dandy at Saratoga.

Saratoga Race 10 {Jim Dandy~G2~1 1/8 mile~3 year old Stakes}
A wonderful field of nine 3 year olds go to the start of this annual feature.  There is a great deal of talent in this race.  A Little Warm (J. Velazquez / A. Dutrow) has a slight edge with the highest last out speed number, has done well over this distance and has posted a fabulous workout.  Fly Down (Lezcano / Zito) can be expected to do well with the highest speed number at the distance and four tremendous workouts.  He has covered this distance three times in his career, the most of any horse in the field.  The star performer in the field could be Steinbeck [IRE] (Gomez / O'Brien) having covered this distance over the turf in his last out.  Mssrs. Tabor, Smith, and Maginer would not have entered this guy if they didn't feel he had a chance.  He gets one of the top jockey's in the world, Garrett Gomez, for his North American debut. Steinbeck [IRE] is definitely a horse to watch.  Afleet Express (Castellano / Jerkens) looks to tackle this distance well with two high octane triple digit speed numbers for his last two races and three stamina inducing workouts.  Let's have a Dandy time at Saratoga.
