From Canada to Kentucky

Today, Thursday, the first day of a new Month, we look at an exciting stakes race at Woodbine and an allowance race at Churchill Downs.

Woodbine Race 8 {Dominion Day Handicap~G3~1 1/4 mile~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A quality field of nine line up for this race.  Southdale (Wilson / Black) appears to be the best prepared to take this one with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two strong, peaking workouts. Sligovitz (Jones / Attfield) can be expected to give chase with the fourth highest last out speed number, a two race progression, three hardy workouts.  Running Stag (Da Silva / Attard) will also be gunning for the victory as they turn into the stretch with the second highest speed number, a three race progression, and two healthy, peaking workouts.  Hold Me Back (Desormeaux / Mott) can be expected to be in the hunt with the highest (tie) speed number at the distance and a vigorous four workout tab.  Eagle Poise (Contreras / Mott) will also be looking for a piece of the purse pie.  He sports a couple of decent last out speed numbers and an aggressive, peaking three workout set.  Let's play Woodbine.
