Gold Cup at Belmont Park

This is a great Saturday filled with numerous Stakes races.  Most are considered prep races for the Breeder's Cup on the first weekend in November at Churchill Downs.  Today we look at one of them, the Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont Park.

Belmont Park Race 10 {Jockey Gold Cup~G1~1 1/4 mile~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A fantastic group of eight will go to the gate, barring any scratches.  Three of the group are millionaires and another three will be with a victory in this race.  All are ready and up to the task today.  Blame (Gomez / Stall) holds an edge with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and four fabulous, peaking workouts.  Fly Down (Lezcano / Zito) will challenge with the second highest last out speed number coming at this distance, a three race progression, and three teriffic workouts.  Haynesfield (Dominguez / Asmussen) will be in the mix with the highest speed number at Belmont holding a 100% in the money record at the track.  Haynesfield also has produced a great three, peaking workout tab.  Rail Trip (C. Velasquez / R. Dutrow) has the highest speed number at the distance, albeit over a synthetic surface.  He posts the third highest last out speed number and five well-built, peaking workouts.  Let's go for the gold in the Jockey Club Gold Cup at beautiful Belmont Park.
