Thursday at Keeneland

The horse racing weekend begins at Keeneland.  Today, another fine Turf race on a beautiful fall day.

Keeneland Race 8 {Sycamore~G3~1 1/2 mile~Turf~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A great group of twelve Turf horses line up for this race.  The veterans may have the edge, but all have a fair chance of pulling off a victory.  Brass Hat (Borel / Bradley) may have a miniscule edge with the fourth highest (three-way tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and three robust, peaking workouts.  Musketier [GER] (J. Velazquez / Attfield) will challenge in the stretch with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four strong, peaking workouts.  Free Fighter (Bridgmohan / Block) looks solid at this distance and has put in three exceptional workouts in preparation for this race.  Yate's Black Cat (Desormeaux / Romans) looks ready to make a good run with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and four superb, peaking workouts.  Presious Passion (Trujillo / Hartman) can be expected to be the motor on the front end of this race and will be in the hunt for the win.  He also has the fourth highest last out speed number and one stamina inducing workout.  Let's play fantastic Keeneland.
